As Joanna says “She’s a long, shallow crescent shawl in a fun combination of moss stitch and cables. I’ve taken to calling my shawls after family members. I’ve named this one after my auntie Hilary who used to handknit cable sweaters and sell them to clients in the US. Sadly, she passed away in 2021, she is greatly missed. I hope this is a fitting tribute to her. The design is knit tip to tip avoiding rows with lots of stitches and creating a crescent shape that is easy to wear. The cable pattern has been set off centre so that it is visible when worn”
The shawl in the photograph was made with Island Dusk, vintage 23 4ply yarn.
