Our latest lot 002 is a lustrous blend of local British fibres – Exmoor Blueface, Devon Bluefaced Leicester, Wensleydale and Romney. The yarn was worsted spun by John Arbon Textiles Mill in Devon.
A soft and bouncy 3ply yarn with fine drape.
We hand dyed the yarn at our island woolery on the River Thames using a very traditional method - a stove and a pan in very small batches. The yarns are then rinsed thoroughly, then washed with Eucalan before finally being left to dry naturally. Some dark colours may bleed a tiny bit.
The yarn is not super washed so all the goodness still remains.
The yarn was skeined and labelled by us - the wool decanted team at the island woolery on the River Thames.
There is a slight variance on the fibres between lots. Lot 001 is a blend of three local British fibres - Exmoor Blueface, Devon Bluefaced Leicester and Devon Wensleydale. Our latest Lot 002 is a blend of four local British fibres - Exmoor Blueface, Devon Bluefaced Leicester, Wensleydale and Romney. There are very slight colour variations between each lot.
